Now accepting new private-pay ART clients · Limited openings for private-pay individual therapy

Online therapy for adults in Florida, California, Massachusetts, and Illinois.

Individual therapy for anxiety, trauma-related distress, phobias, painful memories, and emotional triggers — including focused Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) when it fits.

You may understand why you feel this way. But understanding it has not made the reaction stop. ART is one of the approaches I use for exactly that — a structured method that works with distressing images, sensations, and triggers without requiring you to retell every detail.

Private-pay ART sessions are offered directly through Safe and Empowered Counseling. Standard insurance-based therapy is available separately through Grow Therapy.

The Problem
You understand why you feel this way. But understanding it has not made the reaction stop.

If you have spent time in therapy already, or you have read the books and learned the coping skills, you may know your patterns better than most people ever will. You can name your triggers. You can trace where the reaction comes from.

And still — when the moment comes, your body reacts. The tension shows up. The old feeling arrives. Understanding alone did not make it stop.

This is not a failure of talk therapy. Insight matters. So do coping skills. But some people benefit from a more focused approach that works with the memory or reaction directly — not by revisiting the details, but by helping the nervous system respond differently. That is what Accelerated Resolution Therapy is designed to do.

When you're functioning
When you're functioning — but something still isn't resolved.

You may be the person other people rely on. You manage work, responsibilities, relationships, and everyday life — and from the outside, you may appear to be doing just fine. That does not mean the anxiety, memory, fear, or emotional reaction has stopped affecting you.

You may already understand where it comes from. The question is what actually helps it change.

Therapy here is not open-ended by default. It is focused on what you want to change and honest about what is and is not working. You should not stay in therapy longer than it is useful to you.

Who ART May Help
ART may be a fit if you are tired of carrying the same internal reaction.
Why 90-Minute Sessions
Why are private-pay ART sessions 90 minutes?

ART is structured and focused. A 90-minute session allows time to identify the target concern, prepare for the process, use eye movements and imagery-based interventions, check in with the body, and close the session with enough time to feel grounded before returning to the rest of your day.

This does not mean every concern resolves in one session. Some clients benefit from a small number of focused sessions, while others may need ongoing therapy or additional support. Results vary and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
The Process
What happens next.
  1. Complete a brief inquiry
Fill out the short See if ART Is a Fit form to introduce yourself and share what you are hoping to work on.
  2. I review and follow up
I personally review every inquiry and follow up within 24–48 business hours to discuss whether ART may be appropriate.
  3. If ART looks appropriate, complete a secure clinical screening
The detailed clinical screening happens through a secure system, not on the public website.
  4. Review consent, fees, and preparation information
Everything is transparent before you commit. A Good Faith Estimate is provided under the No Surprises Act.
  5. Attend your 90-minute telehealth session
Sessions are held over a secure video platform. You must be physically located in FL, CA, MA, or IL at the time of session.
  6. Decide what comes next
Together, decide whether follow-up ART, ongoing therapy, or returning to your existing therapist is the best next step. Not every client benefits from more sessions.
Start With a Fit Inquiry
Private-pay ART is not scheduled automatically.

The first step is a brief inquiry to introduce yourself. If ART looks like it may be a fit, a detailed clinical screening is completed later through a secure clinical system before scheduling.
